LOT.520 VARSITY LETTERMAN VEST

This vest is a signature item within the T.T collection, based on an American knit vest from the 1930s. The varsity letterman vest traces its origins to 1865 at Harvard University in the United States, where members of the baseball team wore heavy gray flannel team pullovers adorned with a large “H” sewn onto the chest. The practice of attaching symbolic letters to garments as a sign of team affiliation became established and was eventually adopted by university clubs across the country. Knit vests were worn as one variation of the letter sweater.

The garment is made from a cashmere-blend wool, resulting in a soft and comfortable hand feel.
