OKOU SENKO NO KU

The incense, Senko no Ku is the result from the three-way collaboration between Arpa, T.T, and Ryosokuin. It unfolds through the slow movement of smoke; its curves rising, dispersing, disappearing. Observing this vanishing becomes central: a quiet act of witnessing what cannot be held.

The incense scent, conceived by Barnabé Fillion is composed with kyara, one of the rarest aloeswoods, its fragrance is reconstructed from the remembered scent of ancient textiles preserved at Ryosokuin - fabric that has travelled through centuries, absorbing the presence of the temple and the chants of monks.

As it burns, the incense emerges and dissolves in shifting intensities - vegetal, resinous, aromatic - interweaving like fragments of memory and sensation.

Like smoke itself, Senko no Ku becomes a fleeting vessel, where presence is experienced precisely in the moment of disappearance. A living reflection of time.
