Denim jackets of the 1930s were characterized by patch pockets with flaps, a feature that would have represented a significant improvement in quality during a time of material scarcity.

The reinforcing stitches that secure the front pleats further enhanced the garment’s durability as workwear, bringing the single-pocket design to its most complete form. To heighten historical accuracy, black coated buttons and copper rivets—details commonly used on lightweight denim of the period—are employed.

The fabric itself is an original denim developed through close analysis of denim textiles from the era. The warp is dyed with a green-cast indigo developed by Takahashi, while the weft uses a slightly ecru-toned yarn. While preserving the period-accurate color balance, the yarn count is adjusted and the pick density increased. The result is a 1/2 right-hand twill structure that differs from conventional left-hand twill denim, producing a richer and more nuanced surface expression.
