LOT.223 BRITISH WORK TROUSERS

Based on British work pants from the 1940s.
More precisely, the presence of a London County Council tag identifies them as trousers worn by public works laborers.
Many British work pants of the period were derived from overalls, and a distinctive feature is the triangular stitching applied to the facings of the side pocket openings.
The fabric is Supima twill previously used in Taiga Takahashi’s first collection. Woven as a 3/1 left-hand twill, it reproduces textiles employed by the U.S. military during World War I in the 1910s, resulting in a smooth and refined hand.
Each piece is garment-dyed using sumi ink and mud, creating a timeworn expression reminiscent of well-aged garments.
