The item is based on an early 1900s' sports shirt made from heavy blanket.
Back in those days, dresswear dominated fashion. Sportswear for then-popular motorcycling and other activities were therefore built on dresswear patterns. Fashionable sports were a luxury affordable only for wealthy people, and every garment was crafted with meticulous attention to detail. The long-point collar features a beautiful curve, and the back yoke incorporates that curve.
For reinforcement, deerskin elbow patches are added to achieve a heavy but soft look. The fabric combines wool for the warp and linen for the weft, finished with intense washer processing to create a natural texture.
The buttons are made of genuine water buffalo horn – a material known for their durability and resistance to discoloration, making it a premium button material for a wide range of clothes, including suits and coats. Each button has a unique pattern only found in natural materials.
