The design features a collar reimagined from the lost collar of LOT.104 Band Collar Shirt. The lines are derived from 1920s wing-collar shirts, refined with a modern perspective. The fabric is a jacquard known as Tupelo Madras Chambray, which gained popularity in the 1930s for work shirts. Originating in Tupelo—also known as the birthplace of Elvis Presley—the fabric was considered quite decorative for its time. There’s even an anecdote that Elvis’s mother, who worked in a sewing factory, may have sewn shirts using this exact cloth. A degreased washer finish gives the fabric a dry touch. For the warp, sulfur-dyed gray yarn and indigo-dyed blue yarn are used, allowing the garment to develop distinct fading and character with wear. The metal buttons are specially treated to show subtle signs of aging over time, in harmony with the character of the fabric.
