LOT.413 BRITISH POSTAL WORKER COAT

This work coat is based on those worn by postal workers inside British post offices in the 1950s. Period photographs show workers wearing such coats over ties and waistcoats, reflecting a sense of formality even in occupational settings. The garment functioned as an overcoat during warehouse tasks such as parcel sorting.

Drawing from vintage examples, the degree of flare has been carefully adjusted and the design reconfigured to ensure wearability in a contemporary context.
