The jeans, one of T.T’s iconic items, features a new silhouette.
These jeans incorporate the design of the LOT.704 Denim Trousers c.1920’s into the silhouette that Taiga Takahashi developed during his time designing women’s wear.
They feature a flare from above the knee to the hem, crafted to enhance the body’s lines beautifully, reflecting the designer’s meticulous pattern research.
Using 100% American organic cotton, the 3/1 left twill, light oz denim was woven on an old-type power loom in Okayama, also called a shuttle loom, which can only weave twenty times slower than a modern loom.
The slow-woven denim keeps the natural unevenness of cotton yarn, creating a desirable irregularity in the texture. The warp yarn, dyed with indigo mixed with sulfur dye, carries a definitive green-cast, weathered look. The rope dyeing technique is applied to leave the white core. The weft is custom-made nep yarn dyed in slightly yellowed natural color to express the passage of time. By using these two yarns, Takahashi perfected his unique indigo blue which is deep and rich. The fabric is finished with sanforized process to prevent shrinkage.
The fabric is selvedge denim with a white edge, which is featured in various parts like the front facing and reverse side of the cuffs. This simple jacket has a patch pocket on one side only, and the pleats on the front are folded with single stitches only. The flat silhouette is characterized by horizontally attached sleeves and flat shoulder lines. The buttons and backside parts marked with original engravings are all made of iron, which is uncoated to produce aged beauty over time. All details from the 1920s were replicated by faithfully following the methods from the time. The signature leather patch is mud-dyed in Amami Oshima Island.
The pattern is different for sizes up to 27 and larger sizes. Please check the size chart.
