LOT.605 HENRY NECK SHIRT

Based on a dead stock American-made henley neck shirt from the 1910s, carefully packaged in a box with illustration and handwritten serial number.Montgomery Wards, Sears, and other stores that were the progenitors of today's department stores produced semi-annual product catalogs for their customers, and I found a page in one of them that introduced this henley neck shirt. It is an undergarment to be worn under a shirt, but somehow it looks elegant and graceful beyond the realm of underwear, and it is made of heavyweight waffle material that can be worn alone. Two twin yarns of American cotton are drawn together to create a voluminous waffle material. The hemline has been changed from a "sobiki" to a locked hemline for a clean finish. The cuffs are made of the same two-tiered ribbed circular knit as the 1910 henley neck shirt on which it is based. Cotton 100%
