The bottleneck pullover is based on the American Red Cross knit from the 1940s. The folded and linked collar rib, no longer seen in today's knit, and the repaired hand-blind stitches are faithfully replicated, while the armholes and sleeves were reconstructed to match the silhouette. The knitted fabric is made from a mixed yarn of "gima" cotton yarn (cotton yarn processed to a linen-like texture) and silk/linen to create a blended texture. With half-cardigan knitting as its base, zigzag knitting pattern is effectively used here and there.
