LOT.504 KNITTED VEST

There are a variety of knits worn by hard labor workers that were common in the 1930s and 1940s in the United States. All of them are hard and prickly to the point of being unthinkable today, and most of the textures are unthinkable against the skin. However, knitwear as a tool for hard labor has a unique strength. It is simple and has no assertiveness, like Japanese antique tools, but it has a sense that it will continue to exist beyond generations. We wondered if we could give form to the intuition that Takahashi saw, using a completely different material such as silk for example. This was the beginning of this season's knit series. This vest is based on a hand-knit work vest from the 1920s. 100% SILK
