Palaka Jacket was developed as workwear for Japanese immigrants working in Hawaii in the early 1900s.
Designed to be lightweight and wearable as a casual shirt in the tropics, it features small shell buttons. OZONE BLEACHE finish is added to achieve a sun-faded look, while DISCHARGE INDIGO PLAID is used to feature the traditional check pattern. The base pin-checked fabric is a reproduction of fabric used in American work jackets in the 1910s, woven on old- style power looms with original indigo yarn and yellow-dyed American cotton yarn. Degreasing washer finish was added to give it an aged look with dry touch.
