A redesign of an American sack coat from the 1910s. The original piece has a pronounced flare from the waist, but our model is a jacket for daily use that preserves antique details like small lapels and wide front button spacing.
The fabric replicates the salt and pepper stripe used in the French vintage work jacket from the 1940s. The striped fabric using twisted grandrelle yarn, dyed with sulfur and finished with degreasing washer, carries a dry, non-oily touch. Further garment washing enhances the fades of seam allowances and wrinkles, evoking a sense of aged authenticity.
