LOT.316 SACK COAT

The original model retains traces of frock coats, designed to use only the top button while the rest of the front spreads to the sides of the body. We modified the design to maintain the classic appearance while making it usable as everyday wear. The fabric is our original, an inspiration from 1900s work pants. With the two-folded wool warp and twisted wool and cotton weft as the base, overdyed yarn is woven with 4:1 ratio to reproduce the rough texture of vintage impurities. Deep black dyeing technique is used to absorb light and create depth in blackness. This technique has been developed by Kyoto Montsuki, a brand dedicated to dyeing kuromontsuki, the traditional Japanese formal wear, for over a century. By dyeing only the wool, the fabric achieves a deep, nuanced shade reminiscent of a rakuchawan (tea bowl), with brown particles peeking from the depths of blackness.
