During the post-war economic boom, Italian collar shirts were popular at resorts. Characterized by the opening curvier than open collar shirts, it was a perfect item to look relaxed when T-shirts were still not part of the resort culture. To fully present the bold all-over print using the technique of "Yuzen dyeing" of Kyoto, the design adopts the seamless Italian collar and a single welt pocket as the minimum detail.
