The open-collar shirt, based on American shirts from the 1950s, has a slightly loose silhouette long enough to be tucked in. Silk Noil twill fabric, a yarn spun from the leftover floss of silk cocoon known for its nep and soft texture, is used. Deep black dyeing technique is used to absorb light and create a depth in blackness. This technique has been developed by Kyoto Montsuki, a brand dedicated to dyeing kuromontsuki, the traditional Japanese formal wear, for over a century.
