LOT.006 NEWSBOY CAP

The cap was reconstructed from an early 1900s newsboy cap found in an antique dealer's warehouse in New Jersey. It was in very poor condition, but I felt a strong connection to the previous owner. It is also called a "newsboy cap" because of the newsboy caps worn by newsboys selling newspapers in the 19th century in the U.S. It seems that working-class men of that time generally wore this "flat cap with a front eavespiece" regardless of their occupation. The fabric is again a brand original. The 14-wale corduroy fabric has been degreased and washed to give it a dry, rusty, old-fashioned look. Cotton 100%
