The peaked lapel, double-breasted DB Sack Suit is inspired by American sack suits worn in the 1920s. Based on a suit found through a vintage dealer in New York, U.S.A., the cut and construction are based on how the pinch back enabled a range of motion and functionality in a period when no artificial stretch fibres were in existence. The angular pleats that Takahashi has referenced sit above the half-belt and reflect the streamlined and sleek forms that were characteristic of the Art Deco movement of the 1920s.
